In 2016, the Chun-Ta team joined forces with the Livestock Research Institute under the Ministry of Agriculture (Hualien Station) to pioneer the breeding and cultivation of this unique poultry. Raised naturally free-range for six months, the chickens are nurtured on a specialized organic herbal diet to entirely replace antibiotics. In March 2021, the Minister of the Council of Agriculture (now the Ministry of Agriculture) officially named this premium breed "GAEA Chicken". Named after the primordial Goddess of the Earth, "GAEA" symbolizes poultry tenderly nurtured by the organic herbs and blessings of Mother Earth.
